My Turn at the Wheel (Sunday Morning)

from My Turn At The Wheel EP by Chris Page

/

lyrics

I took my turn at the wheel when you thought could breathe again
Countless miles through the dash while you dream and drift off again
My traveling partner’s here
To keep my conscience clear
As we slip away

We’re like ghosts in the rain dancing rivers on the road
Making bets in Northern Ontario
For truck stops’ blinking signs
To darkened souls delight
Fuel and light the way

The twilight lights up the road for these sunsets we’re alone.
And I can’t believe how the grip of the wheel takes its toll
The road ahead unclear
Future is unwritten here
So we drift away
