about

Another new song that I've been dabbling with forever.

My friend Susan O collaborated with me on this recording, adding her beautiful voice and sweet piano/organ parts.

lyrics

LYRICS:

I want my heartache back
It was a great soundtrack
To my malaise.
You dug through piles of trash
To get to know The Clash
And their drummer's name.

When we plateaued
This aching heart let go
It was an angel, though
So well behaved.

I hoped a Marshall stack
Could help me not look back
And form escape.
You were no Jenny Ross
Who wrote my hearing loss
Had a barber to blame.

When we plateaued
This aching heart let go
It was an angel, though
So well behaved.

I got lost and wandered off
In a fading light.
To work on songs
I hoped she would hear.
Notes on sound, underground
Worded just right.
I'd save and cut out of the Mirror.
Because on paper it made perfect sense.

I want my heartache back
It was a great soundtrack
To my malaise.
